New commission: CÁDIZ

New commission: CÁDIZ

In November 2021 I received a new commission: to paint a 30×40 cm watercolour of a landscape of the city of Cádiz. The only requirements were that the sea should be present and that the watercolour should reflect the spectacular summer light of this Andalusian city. I therefore made three preliminary pencil sketches in my sketchbook, measuring 18×24 cm, and another three colour sketches in watercolour, each measuring 12×16 cm, in order to choose one of them.

The sketch chosen for the final watercolour was number 2. After painting it and before delivering it, I took it to be framed to ARTENMARCADO (calle Teruel, 37 – Madrid), where my friend Raúl advised me on passe-partout, frame and matt anti-reflective glass. This watercolour was a gift to decorate the new house that the owner had recently bought and was renovating in the town of Santi Petri in Cádiz. Since yesterday, 2 February 2022, it has been in the hands of its owner.

Here is the final watercolour: CÁDIZ  (2021, watercolour on paper, 30×40 cm). And some photos of the previous sketches and the framed painting. I hope you like it…
