Meeting the author – Rosana Acquaroni, 18 ciervas (18 hinds)

“A wounded animal will try to put as much distance as possible between itself and its aggressor. However, if it only felt the pain of the impact, which is sometimes minimal, it may stay in the place of the shot trying to elucidate what the noise it heard was.”

From the collection of poems 18 ciervas (18 hinds), Baterbly Editores 2023

On the occasion of the recent publication of her collection of poems 18 ciervas and in the context of “Meeting the author”, Rosana Acquaroni, poet and PhD in Applied Linguistics (UCM) brings together Jessica Belda, Concha Hernández and Javier Aoiz Orduna at the Eugenio Trías Public Library in Madrid, to read some of her poems, delve into the oeuvre of this poet and discover the testimony of what she has lived through. On what is the narrow thread that leads from heartbreak and suffering to deep and real love. And also about guilt and forgiveness. In short, a profound approach to all her poetic work.

This meeting will take place in the Eugenio Trías Library, in the place where the wild beast zoo of Madrid’s El Retiro Park used to be, on Wednesday 28 June 2023.

A luxury of conversation partners around the poetry of my admired and beloved Rosana. The photos and video bear witness to this.
